KVX for Hot Slag

Looking for a way of making your business more profitable? Then you should get to know the KVX system.

The KVX System has been developed in close co-operation with contractors, mines and quarries all over the world. KVX offers a wide product range, dependable factory support, flexible engineering resources, unique and unrivalled solutions, and wear parts of the highest quality.

KVX is Rock Science.

The KVX standard GET steel grades can comfortably withstand temperatures up to 250°C.

Up to this temperature the mechanical properties, such as hardness and mechanical strength, will still recover when the steel is cooled back down to “room temperature”. With the KVX system’s GET design, individual components tend to be larger and more thermally stable than conventional GET, and the GET components can dissipate heat into the lip and bucket more effectively due to the tight face-to-face contact surfaces.

As slag temperatures increase, the requirement to regularly cool the GET, lip and bucket increases. For more extreme slag temperatures, KVX can offer bucket shell materials made from special heat resistant alloys, but the requirement to actively cool especially the GET and lip becomes ever more critical, as permanent deteriorations in steel mechanical properties (hardness and strength) develop above 250°C steel temperature, and become increasingly significant as temperatures increase further.

KVX can be a great option for certain types of slag work, but there can be a delicate balance between positive and negative results as temperatures increase.
